Call for contributions to the newly established Mongolian Studies Blog

Welcome to our freshly establish Mongolian studies blog!

The blog will feature academic texts with an unfinished edge, field reports, photo essays, updates on current events, reflections on (research) subjectivity and/or Mongol-ness, pieces of creative writing addressing topics that requires the format, introductions of the author’s own academic publication(s) with an aim to engage a broader (non-specialist) audience, book reviews, etc. On occasion, we may publish anonymous posts.

We welcome pieces of writing both in English and Estonian. Unfortunately, due to our current resources we won’t be able to edit and publish posts in Mongolian, but we hope this will change in the future. The posts will be published only in their original language unless the author themself provides a translation.

The blog welcomes texts of around 500-3000 words, but depending on the focus/format, we’re flexible. References to other materials can mostly be added as hyperlinks. For strictly academic posts, please add references to your text using the Harvard referencing style.

If you would like to propose a post, please get in touch with the Lab's staff.

In addition to the blog post, please provide a short bio (2-5 sentences). This can include links to your work, website or to a social media profile. Also, please add one photo of yourself and if possible an image related to the contents of the post.

We’re looking forward to reading/seeing/experiencing your posts, and very much appreciate all contributions/ideas for posts!
