The Institute's library is open from 21 October

Starting Monday, 21.10, the library of the Institute of Cultural Research - combining the three smaller libraries of the Department of Estonian and Comparative Folklore, the Department of Literature and Theatre Research and the Chair of Comparative Literature - will be open.

The library is located on the second floor (room 226) of Ülikooli 17 study building and is open Mon-Fri 10-15.

Here you can find a quiet place to study, use a general-use computer, or browse a small selection of books from each department. Due to the renovation of the institute's main building the majority of books are packed and accessible only on prior notice.

Book requests and borrowing
Please use online catalogue ESTER (www.ester.ee) to see whether something of interest is available in our institute's library. If so, send in your request via mail - marko.tiido@ut.ee - or come to the library. Requests are usually handled in 1-2 working days. Books found in our library are marked with the location UT Institute of Cultural Research.
A valid user account - either on Estonian ID-card or UT library card - is necessary to borrow books (more information can be found here - https://utlib.ut.ee/en/user-registration).
