Registration to AKK Autumn School open!

DEAR MA STUDENTS AND SUPERVISORS!

THE AUTUMN SCHOOL OF THE GRADUATE SCHOOL OF HISTORY, LITERATURE AND CULTURAL RESEARCH WILL TAKE PLACE ON 23-24 NOVEMBER 2017 IN THE OLD ANATOMIC THEATRE!

The programme includes:

• Presentations by second-year MA students in interdisciplinary sections (15 min for presentations, 15 min for discussion) NB! We ask you to submit the title of your presentation, 2-3 key words and the abstract (300 words) to your supervisor and the seminar convener by 24 OCTOBER.
• First-year MA students have the opportunity to do poster presentations. The deadline for submitting your topics is 5 NOVEMBER.
• Guest speaker on 23 November at 18.00: ARO VELMET, Humanities scholar as an intellectual. Whether and why it is important that humanities scholars contribute to social life, have a socially active and critical attitude. What are the social duties and responsibilities of humanities scholars?
• Academic writing and public speaking workshops
• Reception

Next Wednesday will take place seminar of an academic presentation. All students are welcome! 

ON WEDNESDAY 11 OCTOBER, AT 14.15 in von Bock Building (Ülikooli 16) Room 109 (1st floor) seminar on types of academic presentations in the humanities. Guest speakers:

• Dr. Raili Marling, How to write an ABSTRACT for a presentation/article? 
• Dr. Vivian Puusepp, What is a POSTER PRESENTATION? 

All first and second year MA students are welcome! We also made a Facebook event for Autumn School: AKK sügiskool. NB! This is not a registration form.
