Studies in the Department of Ethnology

Ethnology students acquire subject-specific theoretical approaches and methods. By analyzing sources and examples, an understanding of the processes of cultural heritage and memory creation in modern everyday life is formed. Approaches to self-definitions and gender and subcultural identities of individuals and communities are also explored.

When solving practical tasks, students learn to use the methods of ethnographic fieldwork and visual anthropology in depth, as well as acquire the ability to write a cultural analytical text.
