The library comprises three smaller specialized collections: the collection of the Department of Estonian and Comparative Folklore, the collection of the Department of Literature and Theater Studies, and the collection of the Chair of World Literature.
The library is located on the ground floor (room 008) of the University's 16th academic building.
The library is open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Most of the books in the catalog (www.ester.ee - location: Institute of Cultural Studies, University of Tartu) have been placed on the shelves and are immediately available.
As a new feature, you can also print in the library - read more on the service provider's website: https://ee.printincity.com/
Ordering and borrowing books

If so, send your request in writing to [email protected] or submit it at the library. Orders are usually fulfilled within 1-2 working days. All books in our collection are marked in the catalog with the location "TÜ Institute of Cultural Research."
To borrow books, you need a valid reader account, which can be created with an ID card or a university library reader card (for more details, see https://utlib.ut.ee/lugejaks-registreerimine).
