International student conference "Bridges in the Baltics"

Undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students from universities in the Baltic countries, including the University of Tartu, are invited to an international student conference ”Bridges in the Baltics“, held at Vilnius University in Lithuania from 4 to 5 October 2024. Conference abstracts can be sent until 1 July.

The conference welcomes 20-minute presentations concerning any of the following aspects of the Baltic countries:

•    language and literature;
•    history, folklore and culture;
•    arts, film and music;
•    cultural, biographical and gender studies;
•    modern technology and innovation in the Baltic societies;
•    political and social developments in the Baltic region.

The presentations of the conference may be given in Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian or English; however, the abstract and presentation slides must be in English. The abstracts without references must not exceed 200 words and must be submitted by 1 July 2024 through the application form

The conference has been held since 2013, and it aims to bring together students whose studies and research focus are on the languages or culture of the three Baltic States, give them a chance to meet their peers from other countries and universities, and present their academic work and interests.
